On 12th April 2015, 33 athletes from all over the world completed the grueling North Pole Marathon. The Lilyroo Fund was proudly represented by Simon Cariss (Co-Founder of Pete’s company PageUp) who finished 13th in a time of 7hrs 47mins and 32 secs.
Just one year ago, Grant Warnes went for his first ever ride – a 40km easy spin from Elwood to Mordialloc and back. In less than 1 month he’ll be riding 1156km in 7 days from Adelaide to Melbourne as part of the Lilyroo Ride.
We recently caught up with Grant at Frank’s Milkbar for a Soy Latte (Grant) and a Skinny Flat White (Pete) to find out a bit more about him.
On Sunday October 12th, a record 32,000 people took to the streets of Melbourne for the Melbourne Marathon Festival. The Lilyroo Fund was proudly represented by four athletes
Pete Lockyer ran in the Marathon (42.2km) finishing in a time of 3hrs 1min and 49secs. It wasn’t a PB for Pete, but he proudly wore his Lilyroo Fund singlet and was extremely happy to go so close to the magic 3-hour barrier.
Three months ago, Rayne Watkin welcomed her second child, Freddy, into the world. In one month, on October 12th, she is running the Melbourne Half Marathon (21.1km) to raise money for the Lilyroo Fund.
