Description
Day 2 of the Lilyroo Ride is a monster: 240km of near flat roads through the Coorong National Park with headwinds likely to test our peloton for some, if not all, of the journey from Strathalbyn to Kingston SE.
Travelling East out of Strathalbyn along the top of Lake Alexandrina we take our first scheduled stop of the day in Wellington, SA before crossing the Murray River aboard the local car ferry.
Once back on dry land, our peloton heads South on the Princes Highway towards our second stop in Meningie. Out of Meningie the Lilyroo Ride follows the Princes Highway in a South East direction, stopping briefly for a photo at the salt lakes, before pushing on to stop 3 in Salt Creek.
One last stop at 200km will provide our riders and volunteers with the energy to push through the last 40km towards “Larry the Lobster”, the finish line for Day 2 in Kingston SE, South Australia.
Accommodation
All our riders, volunteers and support crew are staying at the Kingston Lobster Motel.
Evening Function
Our Lilyroo Ride team will be holding their evening function at the Crown Inn Hotel on the corner of Agnes and Charles Street in Kingston. We would love to see as many of the local community there as possible.
